Rigging out a troupe of militantly beautiful models in relaxed sportswear inspired silhouettes, the focus of Topshop Unique’s SS12 collection was opulent urban attire. Referencing key colours and signature details from ancient Egyptian costume and combining this rich aesthetic with the more contemporary, mass-manufactured techniques used to produce sportswear, a thoroughly modern dress-code was created. Softly blending smart with casual, working from a rich palette of gold, bronze, turquoise, white, watermelon and midnight black, Egyptian hieroglyphic prints adorned hoodies, sweatpants and caps, accessorised only by bold chunky statement jewellery pieces and slicked backed gold drenched hair. Packing out the shows labyrinthine location-based within the disused Eurostar vaults-front row guests included Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, Anna Dello Russo and Julia Rustin Roetfeld.
