One Taylor Swift, two Fanning sisters and a Beyoncé Knowles took their seats for the much anticipated Rodarte show this morning. The Mulleavy sisters delivered art masterclass by the great Vincent Van Gogh full of whimsy and romance. This season, all of their prints, shown on pleated dresses, ruched painter’s smocks and dramatic tiered ball gowns, were of those famous sunflowers, swirly skies and starry nights. Some prints were literally taken straight from the canvas, whilst some were pixelated or blurred offering a more abstract translation. A dramatic midnight-blue mixed with a dark night-time purple gown closed the dream-like show, drenched in sequins and accented with tiers of silk moth hand embroidery.
