Thank you for the waffer invitation and the inflatable rubber ring. Thank you for the ice cream breakfast and the pink lemonade to wash it down. Thank you for the leopard print loo paper and the inflatable animal balloons!
With Mrs Moss and Kristen Stewart front row, the Mulberry show began. Seagulls squawked in the background and ‘Oh i do like to be beside the seaside’ played out, the sticky toffee on the apple of nostalgic great British summer references. Then the sound of thunder and lightning interrupted and a remix ensued, because Emma Hill is a realistic woman. She knows that while we all pretend Spring Summer will be (at least) four baking hot months, the reality is more like a two day heat wave in May, and then a lot of rain. So cropped, hooded, sporty rain macs in a rainbow of sherbet colours featured heavily alongside a midnight blue PVC two-piece rain mac and a stunning crystal encrusted bomber jacket. And for the optimists? Lots of long sheer dresses in block pastel colours and an array of lollipop coloured maxis styled with bright wedged sandals, socks and a dog, getting his daily walk in style. And of course, lest we forget, this season’s bags!
