Mary Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow?

Bringing the mountain to Mohammad, Mary Katrantzou made her very own flower bed in the middle of the catwalk, packed with thousands of red, pink and yellow chrysanthemums. Ajak Deng was first out in a burnt orange asymmetric dress with colour-contrasting blue lips courtesy Val Garland. As a print designer, we knew what to expect, but Mary still blew us away with a prism of colours jumping out from the clothes and long, light trains of fabric flowing behind. Basing the collection around ‘nature vs nurture’, the prints featured birds with bright feathers and tromp l’oeil flowers block coloured as though in neat rows of flower beds. The trouser suits and bubble dresses stood out and the closing look came as a surprise – a heavy dress made from soda cans. It was bloomin’ marvellous!
