French chic and sailor savvy, Margaret Howell underlined her signature of stripped back, no fuss workwear for SS12. It was an ultra clean collection, even for Howell, from the crisp white buttoned shirts right down to the girl’s unpolished toes and wispy chignons. Lots of stripes and navy gave a nautical feel, styled with bell boy caps and flat patent sandals. Shirts were tucked into slouchy trousers or hung loose over a loose skirt with nothing too tight or trying too hard. Yet another utterly wearable, simple and sophisticated collection.
