It’s been a busy summer over in Lou Lou land, with her AW11 collection arriving in the Liberty menswear’s basement recently all eyes were glued on the guys she was sending out into the packed Portico Rooms in Somerset House. With the Horse Meat Disco chaps manning the music our ears were satisfied (in fact i-D felt quite at home having been booming their latest offerings out the speakers in the office for weeks now) and Lou kept us wide-eyed and chirpy with a neat collection of tight tailoring, a touch of thigh flashing and the odd sparkly number for the magpie lurking inside all of us. Navy and black dominated the collection, reflective of Lou’s ’84 miners strike referencing with the darkness offset by injections of burnt orange knits, tan leather boots and the bejewelled tees which i-D online most certainly approved of. A cracking collection, well-suited to Lou’s prime Liberty positioning, fingers crossed it’ll remain so for seasons to come!
