James Small can always be relied upon to bring the razzle dazzle and his show yesterday-the end-note of a successful season for Vauxhall Fashion Scout-was no exception. With the big wigs at Vauxhall lending worthy backing, James showed to a packed Mason’s Hall, with whooping and hollering by the bucket-load offered up by his starry set of palls (Mr and Mrs Jamie Hince led the applause). As for the clothes; the paisley onesies battled with Kate for the limelight and it was a print heavy collection with floral notes finding their way onto straight-leg trousers and teeny weeny cam shorts. The seemingly essential SS12 long socks put in several welcome appearances too (with all these short shorts about we’ll be needing something to keep our ankles cosy!). All in all James did a jolly good job of injecting a spot of spectacle and starry-eyed surprise into London’s menswear schedule. Spot on.
