Edgaras Madaminovas is the shiny new Lithuanian model who’s caught the travelling bug and been dragging his (apparently rather nice) builder’s bum across the world for all to see.
Before strutting his stuff down the runway, 24-year-old mummy’s boy Edgaras was working in construction. Discovered at the start of 2011 and now signed to M and P (amongst others), the self-professed friendly, funny, active chap enjoys his work hard/ play hard lifestyle and looks unlikely to slow down anytime soon. i-D online ran after Mr Madaminovas to find out how it all began!
Tell us about when you were first scouted… It’s actually a funny story. I never even considered that I could be a model, and then about 6 or 7 months ago, I was working in construction in Southgate and was having lunch, all covered in dust and paint, when Cezar Perin from Roost London approached me and asked if I wanted to give modelling a go.
What did you get up to this summer? Summer was amazing. Loads of travelling, new interesting people, seeing my mates and my lovely parents in Lithuania. Modelling took me to Paris and Milan – such beautiful cities, and I also did my first show.
What’s a typical day in your life like? I’ll go home after work, watch TV and do nothing! Just joking, I don’t have a typical one, every day is different.
What are you listening to right now? I like all types of music, especially at the moment with good songs coming out every day. I think it depends where you are and who you’re with too, so it’s a difficult question to answer…
What are your top five international spots to hit after dark?
1. The bar on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
2. Club Terrazza Ramazzotti in Milan.
3. Ministry of Sound in London.
4. Agatos Sklycia in Vilnius.
5. …and all of the others that I’ve been to! =D
