i-D Presents: Princess Julia and Matthew Stone i-N Conversation

This event has now taken place, check back soon for all the coverage!

When it comes to creative trail-blazing they don’t come much more prime than Princess Julia and Matthew Stone. On Saturday 10th September from 6PM, Julia and Matthew will lead a debate about the plight of creatives in London, a survival guide for the city’s wordsmiths, paint-splatterers, stitchers, stylists and more. Against the backdrop of 31 years of i-D covers, in the Red Gallery in Shoreditch one and all are welcome to pop-by and join the discussion, RSVP details below!

Reigning for three decades, the magnificent monarch of London’s club scene and i-D’s Music Editor, Princess Julia was given her royal title by a club owner who couldn’t remember names but never forgot her face. A muse to many, confidant to more, an international DJ and the most regal pin-up on the block Princess Julia knows creative London inside-out and upside-down making her more than qualified to lead Saturday’s discussion.

Joining P.J. up front is Matthew Stone. A long-legged, leading light on Britain’s art scene, Matthew is a key catalyst in keeping London’s creative fire burning bright. Graduating from Camberwell in 2004, Matthew was quick to lend his services to the magazine, both shooting and starring in our pages.

Together the two will present a manifesto for creative London. At a time when the spotlight is set to shine blisteringly bright on the scene we invite everyone to sit up and listen. Paint brushes poised? Chuck on your glad rags and let’s get ready to rumble…
