Partial to a spot of Shakespeare, a wisp of Woolf or a dash of Dickens? There was all that and plenty more prime for the taking at i-D NOW earlier this week as A Tale of Three Cities stopped by to host a book-swapping bonanza.
As the pop-up underwent another of its top-speed transformations, the event room became the venue for an intimate literary soirée as guests were invited to engage in a spot of textual interaction. The premise was simple; arrive with a book and leave with another. Having a held a series of successful swaporamas in cities throughout Europe, organisers and Tale of Three Cities co-founders Alex Tieghi-Walker and Jolyon Varley brought a bucket-load of bookish brilliance to Shoreditch for the night. With music to swap to laid on by DJs Charlet Duboc, Jennifer Byrne and Lucy Luscombe there was bopping aplenty to be done too, the perfect evening of training for the mind and shuffling for the feet!
