House of Holland. London, 17/09/11

South Beach Miami collided with the London streets circa 1983 at the House of Holland show. The girls stormed the runway as pastel-wearing punks with a mesh of leather lurex and snakeskin. At first glace this could have been seen as a sugary sweet collection but Henry’s detailing ensured these girls were not to be messed with! His signature tartan was reworked in ice cream parlor pink, lilac and apricot but it was teamed with ripped-up fishnet leather tights and tops. The pastels were again given a dollop of hardcore punk when splattered with oversized black leopard print. A seriously fitting collection for a cheeky British chappy drawing on youth culture of some the countries glory days and painting it all the colours of the House of Holland rainbow.
