Friday 2nd August marked the birthday’s of i-D and its founder and Editor-in-Chief, Terry Jones. With the doors of our celebratory pop-up open wide we found a slice of time for a sliver of heaven cake.
With the walls of Shoreditch’s Red Gallery bedecked with every cover from 1 through 314, there wasn’t a single issue of i-D that wasn’t able to attend its own celebration!
As at any good get together there was plenty to eat, drink, spill, brake and indulge in. Popping-up in pride of place on the pop-up bar (courtesy of the generous folk at East London Furniture) in the pop-up gallery was the spectacle that is a Lily Vanilli cake. Lily’s culinary creations really are second to none, her chocolate brownie extravaganza (see for yourself in the pictures) was gone in seconds leaving all of i-D basking in chocolate heaven and brownie glory. New-found i-D pals, LoveDaPop brought a spot of snap and craic to the affair and bookshop owners Lucy, Joe and Capt. Hilt of Material Gallery helped i-D fulfil hosting duties!
31 years down no doubt many wonderful winking ones to come, be sure to pop by the pop-up in the coming weeks to join the celebrations. Everything you need to know is right here, right now.
Happy Birthday i-D and Happy Birthday TJ!
