‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ was Scott Sternberg’s touchstone for his womenswear collections this season. Showing both of his two womenswear lines ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ together in one show for the first time. Pyjama stripes, straw pork pie hats, mens braces and cute pleated shirt-dresses, combined to make a modern take on the film classic. Cornflower blue florals were dip-dyed and shiny black PVC was thrown into the mix to prevent things getting too twee. The ‘girl’ section of the show, predictably was a lot more feminine, focusing on softness and fluidity with a range of pretty dresses in delicate pastels, micro-floral patterns and innocent looking crotchet details.
