Alberta Ferretti flew her girls to more exotic shores this season in a steamy, stripped back collection of vibrant fuscias, oranges, greens and yellows. i-D cover stars Anja Rubik, Abbey Lee and Fei Fei Sun sported long, tangled damp hair that clinged clammily around their faces, as if to suggest humidity, while their make-up was fresh and dewy-skinned. Palm prints crept seductively up sheer nude tulle dresses to create the impression they were in fact growing up the models’ bodies, while tribal tattoo prints brought life to wraparound sarong skirts and dresses. It marked a new direction for the designer, who complimented her wild, exotic theme with a series of simple yet elegant chiffon shift dresses in a rainbow of tropical colours, flowing silk suits, safari shirts and beaded skirts and bags that were the perfect post safari attire.
