Pinkunoizu are an underground, experimental musical collective from Copenhagen, creating non-directional, unambitious anthems for the more sublime and refined individual.
Unconcerned with making much sense and more occupied by trying to establish a higher reason for their hazy, ethereal sound, Pinkunoizu describe their ambitions for music as: “to never come full circle. To move hazily in bended ellipses. To bow the line and play it like a fiddle. To shoot it like an arrow. To climb the razorblade pyramid. To collect the cubic rubble from the ruins of tradition and put it together anew.” Recently signed to D.i.Y record label, Full Time Hobby, band buddies Aleh Negari (drums), Jeppe Brix (guitar) Andreas Pallisgaard (guitar, vox) and Jakob Falgren (guitar, keys, foot pedal bass) are the collective formerly known as Le Fiasko. Challenging the boundaries of mainstream music, thinking forward, building soundscapes as opposed to stop/start singles, these four phonetic pharmacists are dealing up acidically ambient beats that aim to intoxicate the mind. Considering the visual elements of their music as equally important as the instrumental, their shows consist of breathtaking barrages, containing beats inter-spliced with abstract light-infused graphics. The psychedelic moving images encourage their listeners to fully interact and engage with the multi-faceted elements of their creative constellations.
Totally immersed in the music; hidden away in prodction for the past two years; PEEP EP is the first official release from this odd lot. Writing the words to first release ‘Time Is Like A Melody’, lead vocalist Andreas Pallisgaard explains, “The opening track is the first recording ever made under the name of Pinkunoizu. The title functions as an opening; a revival of the idea of time as pliable. The track gives in to an almost mystical embracement of the irrational, toughly met with a mathematical counter force controlling the course of events.” Who said anything had to have reason?
