Emeli Sandé has been making top ten singles for years, but you wouldn’t know unless you read the small print. With writing credits for the likes of Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah, Wiley, Chipmunk and Cheryl Cole under her belt, even the scowling Cowell hailed her as his favourite songwriter. Now taking some much deserved limelight the twenty-four-year-old’s debut single ‘Heaven’ (released 15th August) is euphoric, anthemic and soulful. Though a confessional track with deeply raw and emotional vocals, there’s a definite feel-good 90s dance-pop thing going on.
