If Sporty Spice and Scary Spice were making music today it might sound a little like the trip-pop choons ‘Oh My!’ are churning out, enter the all-singing and dancing bubblegum duo that aren’t afraid of mainstream music.
First meeting at dance college, writing their debut album on road trips to local shows and classes, Alex and Jade are self-professed 90′s music addicts. Growing up on a steady diet of Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, Bewitched and Sean Paul these ‘Mean Girl’ fanatics describe their sound as “pop with a dose of attitude”. Aspiring simply to make music for like-minded, easy-going people to listen to whilst having fun, these two characters can mostly be founding giggling, smiling, munching and dancing.
Their tune-tastic tracks are representative of their laid back disposition, their upbeat, shouty, bouncy signature sound is all about sticking two fingers up to pretense or self-importance. Oh My! make digestible, dunk-able, tunes to get down to for a young-at-heart and spirited audience, the perfect soundtrack to your bedroom based dance sequence.
i-D Online styled out an interview at a local vintage boutique ahead of the pairs’ debut single released later this summer.
