Model/singer Sarah Ruba and producer/keyboardist Adam Pavao are the perfect couple/musical duo creating hazy, electro-infused anthems for lovers/lonely hearts.
Signed to fast rising, forward thinking record label !K7, New Look is the breaking, ambient, Canadian musical project born from perfect puppy love shared between one boy and his girl. Headed up by two romantically artistic spirits, Sarah met Adam when he was playing a gig for an early solo project, at a local biker bar. Today the pair spend every waking moment in each other’s company, creating music with “Adam tinkling around on the keyboard, just coming up with a beat and Sarah playing around with synth”.
Whilst experimenting with their sound, the duo settled on the tag ‘New Look’, more of a testament to how non-descript a band name can be, as opposed to a homage to the popular British high street fashion retail outlet! Before the band she was Bruce Weber’s muse. Now he’s now her muse and New Look have ambitions for “total world domination.” i-D online trotted off down to The Shacklewell Arms for chat and a shimmy with the cute couple.
