The i-D gang headed south to Kent for Hop Farm Festival, and boy was it a blast.
With a line up that rivalled all of the major festivals on the circuit this summer, expectations ran high. But Hop Farm has charm all of its own. Yes there was an element of Dad rock but with an old school line up it was inevitable; Patrick Wolf accompanied Patti Smith on stage, Iggy Pop rocked out, Lou Reed mellowed it down, Morrissey dished out classic after classic and Prince turned on 50,000 people one by one. Then of course there was Indie Disco, a combination of a parochial youth club and hardcore dance all under one roof that worked a treat and made us move our dancing feet.
Take a look at some of the Hop Farmers we encoutered over the weekend. Until the next.
