Back in March i-D online threw light on HUGO Create offering one and all the opportunity to make for Berlin and paint the town red. Spring forward three months, equipped with step-ladders, stencils and spray-cans aplenty, the global winners made a dash for the German capital.
With street art legend Blek Le Rat taking on the Pied Piper role, the merry winners were led on a creative adventure. The fragrance of Hugo and paint stained finger tips merged high to make an event that kept all revelling long into the summer evening. As unexpected improvised works were carried out on site, Blek – in-keeping with the atmosphere – made instant collaborations with the guests and participants with a quick spritz of his signature stencil rat.
