Yesterday’s collection showed an equidistant meeting of minds and tastes, namely quintessential Romain Kremer designs and the fashion eye of Nicola Formichetti that hunts and mines for the zeitgeist of tomorrow. The Kremer club kid was evident: a light scuba t-shirt in muted neon green (with the Mugler logo printed across the chest in inverse so it’s clear when the wearer looks at himself in the mirror), body conscious stretch materials that accentuate muscles and the play on sportswear with jackets. The stone-washed denim double combos, the highly desirable collection of unique Underground for Mugler brothel creepers and visual vibe-mastery felt very Formichetti. For SS12 at Mugler the male anatomy is God, muscles were sprinkled with green body glitter, models were adorned with Olympic medals. Heroic corpular forms with one foot in ancient days of antiquity and the other in a banging techno club in Berlin.
