i-Ntroducing Natalia Kills

Devoting all her energy and passion to locking down a brutally feminine sound, musician Natalia Kills is major label Polydor’s latest and greatest secret weapon. Be afraid.

Booked to support Kelis on her worldwide tour just a few weeks after being signed, Natalia Cappuccini, a.k.a Natalia Kills, is an unstoppable fresh new force in pop. Working closely with will.i.am on her debut album Perfectionist, Natalia first put out her demo ‘Shopaholic’ under the alias of MC Verbz in 2008 via her Myspace. Becoming an overnight viral sensation, racking up an impressive two million hits in just a few days, blogged by Perez Hilton and then signed to Interscope/CherryTree records, the fresh-faced musician was quickly whisked off to LA to meet with managers and producers. Equipped with a back catalogue of material compiled over the years, the concept album that followed was autobiographical, honest and emotional, allowing fans an uncensored insight into her sexuality and creativity. Speaking candidly about her influences, Natalia commented “Every experience I’ve had is worth it, every thought I’ve pondered over is there, all of my opinions, everything that makes me who I am. I’m so proud of this album and l love all of the songs”.

Raised in Bradford by her Jamaican father and Uruguayan mother, Natalia relocated to London aged fourteen to work on the classic Radio 4 series The Archers as the voice of Amy Franks. Going on to carve a name for herself spitting, rapping, dancing and directing an online series entitled ‘Love Kills xx’, Natalia has risen fast. Today she continues to scale the peripheries of left of centre pop with her contemporary and experimental sense of style. i-D Online caught up with the lady before she jetted off to Venice to fuel the worldwide whirlwind sensation her music is perpetuating.
