Where are you from? Big bad Birmingham, I moved to London when I was nineteen. I love my hometown and am a true Brummie at heart, but would never have had the opportunities there as I have here.
Tell us about your nail style? I was a bit of rude girl growing up and loved the ghetto fab look. I was obsessed with Crazy Moschino, gold jewellery and nail art. All of the above are still a really big part of my look and I try and translate this into a fashion context through my work. I also love antiques and vintage bits and pieces, especially the Art Deco era. My flat is full of quirky objects and it can be something as literal as a piece of furniture that can inspire one of my designs. I’d say my nail style is a mix of vintage and ghetto influences, with a more graphic, fashion edge.
Whose nails do you do? At the moment I’m working with Jessie J. A girl after my own heart she loves a full-on nail. We have a similar style so always think of crazy nail designs together. It’s refreshing to work with someone who’s not afraid to experiment and stand out. She takes risks with her fashion and I bounce off that. Other clients include Sarah Jessica Parker, Beth Ditto and Trudie Styler.
If you could get rid of a nail trend forever what would it be? The classic French Manicure… Need I say more?
