Take the world by storm. Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn are two of the world’s most successful models, they’re also best friends, with a passion for fashion, fine wine and fried chicken.
Despite hailing from opposite sides of the Atlantic, Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn are two peas in a pod. Cover stars of i-D’s The Exhibitionist Issue, the pair first bonded on a shoot for Topshop and as their careers flourished so did their friendship, today the girls are inseparable. Born in 1992 in St Louis, Missouri, Karlie was spotted at a charity gala aged thirteen. A keen ballet dancer – Karlie studied at Caston’s Ballet Academie – modelling had never entered the midwest teen’s head. Yet her ballet dancing history stood her in good stead and in 2007 she signed with Elite before moving to Next Model Management in 2008. Graceful and elegant, yet determined and fierce, Karlie walks the runway like she’s parting the tide, hips swaying to and fro like a Cobra snake, head bobbing side to side. Her trick is to keep her chin down, a straight face and stay focused. Team this lethal combination with her graceful height and strong stride and the result is hypnotic, and very very sexy. It’s impossible to open a magazine today and not see Karlie’s face in it. The same can be said for her bezzy mate and fellow supermodel Jourdan Dunn. Born in London, Jourdan exploded onto the fashionsphere in 2006, after being discovered in Primark by a scout from Storm models. Her perfect features and gazelle-like gait propelled the South London gal to star success, with Miss Dunn taking to the runway for every designer of note, winning model of the year, and starring in advertising campaigns for Benetton, Yves Saint Laurent make-up, ck Calvin Klein, Topshop and Gap, before taking time out to have her little boy, Riley, in 2009.
In The Exhbitionist Issue we talk fried chicken and fine wine with the BFFs, available now.
