Today the big story was snakeskin: printed onto chiffon blouses, sequenced onto jumpsuits alongside panels of suede and leather, dyed green or billowing on sheer frocks gathered at the neck. All of MacGibbon’s signature pieces made an appearance; the super-wide trousers, ponchos, dungarees and denim. However, new this season, was a bold use of colour – slashes of red and grey, striped together on skirts, a yellow silk button-down, paired with high-waisted and flared faded blue jeans followed by a memorable rainbow patchwork poncho. It was a Seventies whirl with a lively and modern attitude.
