The Sonia Rykiel runway looked like the set from the Girls Aloud smash ‘Sound of the Underground’, complete with fences and strobe lighting; we prepared ourselves for leather, sweat and a little hair swishing. Models came out sashaying down the runway, stopping to perch on trash cans, lean on fences and generally have a chat amongst comrades. Dressed in lovely plaid suits, fur sleeved coats and stoles, long stripy and floral dresses and pleated skirts with thigh high splits, they proved uptown girls can get down.
