To top last season’s success is some great feat. Ackermann’s stunning Fall collection opened with long dramatic black cloaks fastened with leather belts and paired with rushed leather gloves with subtle lace and zip detailing. Wide leg trousers in beautiful soft leathers and satins were paired with densely textured form fitting boiled wool skirts and cloaks. Dresses were strategically draped and made you hold your breath for fear of the whole ensemble unravelling. Flowing satin trains rippled as models slowly glided across the runway. Beautiful soft leathers and satins came in a colour palette of greens, burgundy, navy, purple and champagne. Models were either wrapped up in satin dresses and fastened with wide leather belts or undone in oversized knitwear that barely clung on to shoulders. Twisted elegance at its finest by the new master of draping. Fashion has a new star.
