Rick Owen’s cult warriors softened up a little this season. Wrapped in layers of the softest cashmere, suede, fur and puffy capes, these strong women definitely felt more tactile in both senses of the word. A gentler color palette of greys, greens and browns kept things light whilst the expert layering kept it tough, purposeful and notably chic. As a master of outerwear, puffer jackets came with angel wing sleeves, capes skimmed the floor and cropped leather jackets were slicker than ever. Reinforcing his dogma for Fall, Owen’s disciples wore chunky knitted snoods and dramatic fur wimpoles. Uncompromising and utterly covetable. The bewitching Amelyne closed a convincing show, defining Owen’s take on female power.
