This was Melanie Ward’s first collection on styling duties for Balmain, taking over from Emmanuelle Alt. However, despite Ward’s minimilist sensibilities, all the usual bling and razzle-dazzle were present for Fall. Hemlines were high, shoulders were sharp and everything glittered. In fact one pair of dungarees, sparkled so much it was like paparazzi flashes going off. Perfect for Decarnin’s clientele who will welcome a glitzy collection with that sort of association.
