Showing in the grand ‘National Opera’, McCartney pushed her signature concepts of masculinity and femininity into bold new territories. Sharply tailored pantsuits with jackets got the supersize treatment and a particularly cool baseball jacket with faux leather sleeves was morphed into a full-length coat. Gold laminated knits with dropped shoulders created relaxed shapes whilst holding their form, and sleeves had a soft, sculptural quality. For evening, McCartney changed gear and cut loose, revealing the feminine side of the collection, with polka dots layered onto tuille T-shirts or inset into sexy, contoured black dresses. Bravo!
