MMM have made their name designing clever clothes that turn your expectations inside-out and maintain a sense of humour. Suffice to say, the first ever Margiela brand collaboration, MMM6 with New York retailer Opening Ceremony, is a big deal. Staying true to their conceptual approach, the collection is layered and compartmental, featuring 20 looks, which open up in various ways into 60 separate pieces, inspired by the idea of a jacket with detachable lining. For example, a quilted leather jacket with a beige nylon lining becomes two jackets in the time it takes to unbutton. Time after time, layer after layer, MMM continue to stretch the imagination of a fashion collection.
