Donatella brought Versace home this season (literally), to 12 Via Gesù, Milan, where her late brother Gianni used to live and work. As a result, the collection was both retrospective and celebratory, paying homage to much loved Versace codes whilst championing bold, new (always sexy) ideas. Abbey Lee, Natasha Poly, Kasia Struss, Daphne Groeneveld and Isabeli Fontani were amongst the A-list cast who took to the catwalk (in a tent in Gianni’s former courtyard) to model a strong, graphic parade of black bodycon dresses with purple, yellow and green foliage motifs, sharp, sophisticated military jackets with gold baroque detailing and this season’s lace-up, shin high boot to step up the sex appeal. The finale, shown to a medley of Prince’s greatest hits, celebrated exactly what Donatella does best, a jaw-dropping array of floor-length, thigh-split evening gowns destined for the Oscars. From nightclub to red carpet, Versace caters to your every glamorous need.
