Milan, 25/02/11. Gianfranco Ferre.

Gianfranco Ferré’s sleek, chic, elegant collection marked a sharp new direction for the Italian fashion house. Designers Roberto Rimondi and Tommaso Aquilano threw off the shackles of previous seasons to reposition themselves as designers for the modern woman. Key pieces in their essential wardrobe were sharper and more sculptural, and included a white cashmere overcoat with silk lapels and daring, architectural details, a masculine blazer with directional black leather collar, fuzzy cropped white shearling jackets demanding to be hugged and figure hugging pencil skirts worn with blouses in a variety of soft, neutral hues. Each look was set off with a pair of two-tone black and tan patent ankle boots that were not only perfect for sloshing through the winter rain but also creating an impression, guaranteed to turn heads.
