The Royal Courts of Justice played the perfect host to Giles Deacon’s magnificent couture like collection. A serious departure from last season. It was, he said ‘austere, not austerity.’ Explaining, ‘I thought about the nineteenth century obsession with female hysteria; something buttoned-up, but at the same time with something completely wild lurking underneath.’ Edwardian style high collared white shirts were used predominately throughout the collection, any primness was rivaled by waist cinchers, flashes of bare legs and transparent fabrics. Peacock feathers were dyed black and were masterfully used to create exaggerated silhouettes. i-D loves!
