Gucci kick-started their 90th birthday celebrations last night with a packed out party at Piazza Oberdan.
Crowds lined the streets outside trying to get in, while burly door staff checked off the invitations of Milan’s glitteriest and most glamorous party-goers. The event was a great place to unveil the Italian fashion house’s latest contribution to the luxury goods market: a Fiat 500 customised by Gucci Creative Director, Frida Giannini. The car, complete with Gucci’s trademark green and red stripe running down the side and bonnet and the Gucci logo on the wheels and side, is the perfect accessory for the fashion fanatic who’s got it all. Italian DJ’s mixed a party-bopping mix of pop and house music and champagne flowed late into the night, whilst supermodels including Abbey Lee, Anja Rubik and Jac Jagaciak hit the dancefloor (but not before giving i-D a wink). Later on, Coco Sumner took to the stage to play a late night session with her band I Blame Coco before we all flitted off into the night, knowing that glamour and Gucci really do go hand in hand.
