Attracting nearly four thousand people, the All Walks National Portrait Gallery takeover was a night to remember.
Seeing so many glorious individuals gathered in one place to celebrate diversity was a colourful sight. It proved that the subject of diversity and individuality, in an age where beauty is very narrowly defined, is a hot topic.
All Walks is devoted to broadening the range of beauty ideals we see in our media by working with a wider range of models in age, size and ethnicity. The evening’s thought-provoking debate between MP Lynne Featherstone, psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos, ethical advertiser Kiki Kendrick, Editor of Elle Lorraine Candy and model Erin O’Connor was a great success (and over subscribed tenfold!)
With Brit photographer Alistair Guy (complete with temporary studio) popping up in the gallery, i-D lent the fabulous folk at All Walks a hand in coming up with some fantastic photography subjects (click here for more info). With Mr Guy snapping over a hundred pictures you can peruse a selection here.
