The sun shone on the seventh edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week as international journalists came from far and wide to marvel at the offerings.
Founded in 2007, 080 Barcelona Fashion is dedicated to raising the profile of independent and upcoming designers, proudly pioneering the event in the hope it will become an established part of the fashion calendar. A jury of seven creatives including editor Jean Paul Cauvin, artistic director of Antwerp’s RA store Romain Brau and designer Benoit Melleard all judged the collections to decide who should be awarded the two prizes for innovation and excellence in menswear and womenswear.
You could have been forgiven for thinking that a giant snail had set up home by the harbour as eighteen labels were showcased under one big cylindrical tent. Within this temporary home, the simple set design of industrial scaffolding became the staging for a very loud three days. 080 Barcelona Fashion has much to shout about.
