Topshop Emerge presents KTZ

KTZ, aka Kokon to Zai, is the fierce, trend-setting clothing line designed to sharply contour every angle of a woman’s body. Combining couture with street style, KTZ represents the edgy, forward-thinking aesthetic Topshop is internationally recognised for.

This month sees the launch of new talent platform Topshop Emerge, intended to bring a selection of internationally based designers to the Oxford Circus Flagship shop floors. Stocking two new designers at any one time, for one month only, Topshop Emerge will promote and support the brightest design talents.

Founded in Macedonia by Marjan Pejoski and Sasko Bezovski, KTZ has become a celebrity on-stage favourite as a result of its high-impact designs and bold 80s and early 90s Nenah Cherry Buffalo Stance references. Marjan and and Sasko describe the KTZ woman as one “who possesses true individual style, is young and has a musical or artistic background”. They say their designs are “affordable enough to reach a large audience but they also have intellectual elements with a more elite appeal”. Selected by a team of Topshop’s international buyers, the high street store is excited to shake-up the commercial world with these unique, off-the-wall collections, “Topshop Emerge provides a platform for the younger and more progressive labels that we’ve discovered. There is so much exciting talent out there, not just in London but across the U.S., Australia and Europe, and as a brand we wanted the chance to support emerging international designers like these who just don’t get the exposure in this competitive market”.

i-D Online went behind-the-scenes with KTZ early this week. listen out for the debut mix of Love Amongst Ruin’s new single ‘Home’ by new Herve (aka the Count)label signing Baxta. Available for download here.
