Following the recent opening of Mario Testino’s Kate Who? exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery, the photographer is set to release an accompanying book featuring more than 100 images of the supermodel.

Mario Testino and Kate Moss propelled each other into the spotlight as two of the most sought after names in the fashion industry. The pair first met on a shoot for French Glamour when Kate was only fifteen and signalled the start of a beautiful friendship, both personally and professionally. Two decades of working with one another produced a unique relationship between the photographer and his subject and a vast archive of images, some of which have never been seen before and will make their debut when the book is released later this month.

Featuring many backstage shots from the their famous fashion editorials, Mario has hand-picked his favourite images of Kate, which vary from the model at work to the girl at play. Accompanied by a foreword from the photographer and an exclusive essay from the notoriously private supermodel, the book is both a visual and textual exploration of their relationship. In her essay, Kate credits Mario as being the first to recognise her potential as a sex symbol, transforming her from grunge waif to international glamour puss. In her own words, she writes “I don’t think anybody had seen me as any kind of sexy model before he did. He was the one that transformed me”. Kate Moss by Mario Testino invites you to witness the transformation once more.

Kate Moss by Mario Testino is available from 26th July, retailing at £300. The book is being issued as a limited edition, with 1,500 copies of the boxed hardback each numbered and autographed by Testino himself.
