Stewart teaches Jivamukti Yoga and is very socially aware.

She used to be a clubber at the Hacienda and a music writer. She teaches in a very slow, precise way and is extremely popular.

Cormac runs club night ‘WetYourSelf’, DJs and produces as well as teaching yoga, mainly Astanga. He’s incredibly agile – you have to be pretty nimble to keep up with him!

An Astanga yoga teacher, Will teaches me on Saturdays, although he doesn’t do it in his knickers like this! He is a great teacher and his practice is very true to the Astanga routine – lots of vinyasas and bends! Down dog, up dog and lotus position. Will says he “tried yoga after becoming more interested in environmentalism, spirirituality etc. Possibly as a reaction against the cruel world of banking that I worked in. I started over fifteen years ago, initially struggling with flexibility following running and football. I’ve been teaching for about six years, training initially with BWY then Yoga Alliance UK for Ashtanga. I also practised several times in Mysore with Sri K Patthabi Jois and with David Swenson and John Scott. Ashtanga brings a discipline and strength missing from other forms of yoga and is invigorating and energy-giving”.

Jim runs club ‘Caligula’ with Leo Belichi as well as studying yoga with the intention of teaching. He has spent a lot of time practising yoga, “I got into it because I was looking for something that would give me a clear head and keep my body in good shape. A friend introduced me to yoga and it transformed my life. I then went on to do a number of month-long, silent retreats, which got me into meditation. I practice classic Hatha Yoga and Kriya Yoga. I aim to teach classic Hatha Yoga and eventually go on to teach Kriya Yoga”.

Former DJ at ‘Taboo’, designer and producer, Rachel now teaches Hatha yoga with devotion. Here she is pictured with the legendary Leigh Bowery.

A former music journalist and PR, Dina now teaches Dynamic yoga. She completed a Dynamic yoga teacher training programme in Ibiza with Godfrey Devereux in 2000, more as an exercise in damage limitation than as a pre-meditated career move. She continued her studies through the British Wheel of Yoga Diploma and Yoga Alliance accreditation at the advanced 500 hour level. She has studied Yin yoga with Sarah Powers and Paul Grilley in California, retreated with yogini/author Donna Farhi in New Zealand, delved deeper into Ashtanga with John Scott in Cornwall, enjoyed sequencing vinyasa flow to music with Shiva Rea, floated on blankets and bolsters in restorative paradise with Judith Lasater and spent many weeks with Clive Sheridan exploring the mind blowing (literally) practice of Pranayama.

Dynamic yoga teacher Amanda Wright teaches Hatha, Yin and Astanga Yoga. Love her!

Inventor of the hot yoga style! It’s like the ‘boot camp’ of Yoga, very active and intense due to the insane temperature. People get addicted to it! I’ve tried it myself.

Yogi used to model and once starred in a Madonna video! He’s now an Ayurveda and Yoga Therapist offering natural medicines and treatments.
